We have always thought we got really lucky when we gave birth to a beautiful child that NEVER put anything in his mouth that wasn't supposed to be there. He has made it through almost 2 full years of life without ever putting little toys or trinkets from off of the floor in his mouth for exploration. He never sucked his thumb and never took a pacifier. He drooled a bit when he was teething and he wouldn't even put a teething ring in his mouth to help with the discomfort (we felt bad for him then).
Well, all of this has changed. After weeks of drooling and parental speculation, the 2 year molars have made an appearance on the bottom of little Zach's mouth. And now, he is a drooling mess that can't keep his fingers out of his mouth. It really is quite disgusting. And, either he is practicing for college fraternity stunts or the molars are really bothering him because at times, he is able to fit his entire hand in his mouth. It is amazing. Must be a boy thing.
*sigh* this is just another phase on this incredible journey called life/parenthood and I've never been one to rush out of any stage Zach has gone through but man am I ready for the drooling and chewing to stop!!!
